Does anyone have any tips on how to wear your harness correctly? Mine always rides up to rib/sternum height. Should it be as tight as poss or not? Also I end up feeling nauseous for about 2 hours afterwards, probably as it's too tight. Mines a North Airstyler so I would imagine a good quality one but weighs a ton once it's wet.

Firstly i'm sorry i'm not really about to answer your question........

I would love to know too, I have similar problem. I have a Dakine Hawaii waist harness and it always rides up to my ribs and then the bar feels really far away from me (insert short joke here).

I got a spreader bar pad which helped considerably if you don't have one already?? I try to put the harness low and really tight which only really works for about the first hour before inevitably riding up.

Sometimes not doing it up so tight allows you to push it down when cruising along but then rides up more so its a loose loose....

Do newer harness with bigger and better back support ride up less?

I know the most obvious answer would be get a seat harness but that wasn't really the question!

Tight as poss before you head in. If it still rides up excessively then you may need a smaller size.

Harness's like the new Mystic Majestic have memory foam back to them and do seem to ride up way less, they also have the tie down for the spreader bar which also makes a huge difference.

Thanks for the posts so far. I'll have a look at the Mystic harnesses.

yeah can recommend the Mystic Majestic harness helipidboy takes a few outings to get the memory foam working but now don't even think about it when it's on. at first I tended to overtighten my harness a ProLimit but had the same issues as you, kept riding up and guts ache and crushed chest after riding. Just make sure you try the right size as they tend to come up a bit small.
