Might have been interested but the van is in the garage for at least a few days, maybe able too by the end of the week.

Anyone considering going to Oxwich on Sunday? Or can you suggest another good beach for an easterly nearer Porth Cawl?

Swansea bay is good in an Easterly. I'm going to Sketty on Saturday morning at 9:30 but the wind may be only 10 knots.

Yup, Swansea Bay at higher tides (muddy at lower) or Oxwich Bay on these dreaded Easterlies.
Makes you realise how lucky we were for the Blast Summer Jam though hey!! Cool

as per usual with Oxwich
It looks likely to be a bit light, it's also one of the few beaches to work in this direction so when this happens it gets very very busy.
If your beginner level it's worth walking up to the left side of the beach towards Three Cliffs..as far as you can as this will hopefully give you a bit more space away from the masses that all gather together in front of the carpark! Shocked

I'm in Saundersfoot for he weekend if anyone is about but it's Ironman on Sunday which affects travel and access to the beaches. Quite a few beaches work well on an easterly so hoping to get in!!

There are some out at Coney now (and yesterday)they had lessons and kit of us recently and are progressing rapidly as they are really keen.
It's a tad light at the moment but if your keen enough it's ok
ESE is best as sometimes East will go slightly cross off.

I'll be down there again this arvo

Yes Oxwich can get VERY busy indeed, I can vouch for this. The one and only time someone managed to cross his lines with mine with a resulting monstrous bird nest to get rid of... :-(
But it's always clear on the left hand side and it's not during school holidays and it will be cloudy too, so hopefully not too many bathers about. There are no dedicated kitesurfing and bathing areas at that beach, making it quite dangerous when busy. I am feeling frustrated with the Easterlies, so definitely going to give it a go Sunday.

Think I am going to avoid an hours drive to Oxwich and give Coney a try about midday.

Fingers crossed the wind direction cooperates!! If it don't a surf and a coffee in the waterfront might well be on the cards

Paul there wouldn't have been any wind at Rest coz of the direction, it would have been bang off shore, hence why I put about going to Coney.

Guys the wind meter is predominantly showing NE, it most likely is so will b a lot of Off at Coney.

Hey hicks. Just read your pm. It very light here right now. If yesterday repeats it's a big kite day 12+. I didn't go in as 9 is the biggest. Will check it out later when it warms up hopefully. Most likely Saundersfoot or Tenby South, I'll post...

It looks like the only option locally would be Broughton. And i just don't know if I can be arsed ....
Now if someone were there and said it was 6m weather ... Thats different. I hate wind droughts

Coney is currently cross off and breeze appears to be dropping. Think I will have to spend some of my DHSS surf seekers allowance on a coffee!
