Ok guys, I've reserved the pousadas but I now need your deposits ASAP please. I will need £510 for accommodation deposits and £699 for flights. If you pay as soon as you can hopefully the flights won't go up but obviously I can guarantee they won't between now and then anyway, but I'll let you know. If you haven't been with us before PM me and I'll give you the bank details.  cheers

Just sent you the deposit, I think I got the amount right. My flight was a bit less than I expected, £708 return to Fortaleza via Lisbon.

Just to let u all know where we're at, all accommodation is booked, the flights have gone up by over £100 and nothing taking less than 28hrs to get there, but don't fret, I remember this happening last year and they came back down. So my plan is to sit and wait patiently. Anyone who prefers another plan, let me know :-)

Have you used Ebookers to look for flights? There seem to be flights on there for £800-ish with TAP and cheaper with other airlines. Worth bearing in mind that TAP only takes 12-13 hours instead of forever with TAM. Personally I'd rather pay an extra £100 than spend 12 or 14 hours sitting around airports or on planes going in the other direction.

That's not how you clear the cache. The site you're visiting is using cookies to track previous uses and this will drive up the cost of flights.

Go to this link ...

https://kb.iu.edu/d/ahic

....pick your browser, follow the instructions then go back and book the flights.

The flight is with TAP,
Departing: 15th Nov from Heathrow terminal 2 at 12.20pm
Returning: 29th Nov arriving back on the 30TH NOV at 15.25pm

.

Baggage allowance is 2 suitcases each at 32kgs each, sports baggage allowance is IN ADDITION of this. The Kite bags can also be 32kgs but we will have to pay 100 Euros each way at the airport. Please also print this form out, sign it and bring it with you to the airport.

I will need £300 per person please, this includes the 3 cars and insurance and a kitty for the cars ONLY whilst at Jerri, ie. drivers, petrol, parking etc. Please be aware that this price is based on what we paid last year so we may end up paying a little more when there. Thanks :-)

one month today!! sunny

Sarah
Marc
Dave
Harry
Stuart
Victoria
Valerie
Jon

Don't forget some essentials for the trip... bounce

Some strong suncream we use P20

It's a very good idea to take a spares/repair kit especially the inflate valves as the heat there can cause some to peel, we've seen this on lots of kites whilst in Brazil.

A good pair of sunnies pref some you can wear in the water too, the white water is extremely bright and the water quite strong with salt..it's the one place I have to wear water sunnies all the time.

We'd also highly recommend some repair tape, we sell a lot of kitefix but I've recently used Kiteaid and man this is so much neater/stronger/more permanent and simple to use.

Inflate valve

Kiteaid Sail Repair Tape
http://www.blastkiteboarding.co.uk/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=664

Sunglasses
http://www.blastkiteboarding.co.uk/index.php?_a=viewCat&catId=127

No need for wetsuits just rash vest and shorts..a long sleeve is a good idea for sun protection.
Kite wise...I use 9m down Cumbucu area then down to 5m/6.5m up in Jeri so for bigger guys maybe a 11m in Cumbucu and 7m up north

Ask away if you have any questions

Sarah,
Time to sort out some Reals....Any idea how much we will need to fork out over there for accommodation, cars etc?

Thanks

You have roughly paid just under 50% of the accommodation price, so what ever I 1st asked for will roughly cover the rest of it. Re; the cars, I have tried to account for (in your last payment to me) everything that we spent on the cars whilst in Jerri last year, as that is where the most was spent on the cars. I don't think there will be much more to spend on them, mayb a further £50 each? There is a card machine in Cumbuco, and in Paracuru but they aren't always reliable, plus the risk of the card being copied. I think this year we're going to take a pre-paid post office card.

Not sure if I've helped at all, sorry.

Best place to order your reals (if you prefer to take cash rather than card) is the ICICI bank. They deliver to your door next day and it's free if you get over £700, which is about what we need...

Sarah,
From my recollection last year we settled accomadation in Cumbuco with cash (which rather caught me out), and then in Paracaru and Jeri by card. Is it likely to be the same this year or do you think will we be able to settle up in Cumbuco by card?
Not long now :-)

Ohh yes, you're right. No we'll still have to pay cash in Cumbuco. Yeh can't believe it's finally coming round.

Right I'm not taking a card with me so I need to make sure I've got enough cash.

What have we got left to pay on accommodation?
What have we got left to pay on transportation?

I can guess the amount for food and stuff but I need to know what's outstanding so I can get enough cash.

I've been through this thread and found what's been paid, but I can't find what's still outstanding?

Ok so we've paid 50%-ish for accommodation so there's about £500 left there, £50 for cars and about £300 for spending.
Have I missed anything out?

So about.....£850?

There are six from this area now so we will need a few cars/vans anyway.
Our Blast bus is too big for Carpark etc so no plans as yet
