Ah yes ! It's going to be a 5 stage !! whoop! Thought it was going to be a 2 ! Looking forward to that Very Happy

looks like WMski is going to be a 2 for most of the season and on the busiest lake at the Cotswold water park ! They haven't found a permanent home yet for their 5 stage system !

Lets hope it gets up and running soon, I did hear from a very reliable source that it was going to be 2 System 2.0's but fingers crossed for a full cable with plenty of obstacles to hit up!

From their FB page:

Hi all,

We are still waiting for leases and legal work to be completed before we can install the cable system.

As a result we have now missed all of our deadlines for 2014.

We should have been installed and running smoothly before the school summer holidays to enable us to get the best from the 2014 season.

As this is not now going to be possible we have decided to delay the installation until early 2015 - to enable us to build the cable park, train our staff and have a full season of operation in 2015 rather than rush an install in 2014 and possibly not be able to deliver the high quality sporting facility that we want for Cardiff.

The CBW team are really sorry for any disappointment this will cause for our customers but all feel this is the correct decision to make.

Our installation will begin in February 2015 with the park opening at the end of March 2015.

If you do fancy wakeboarding or water-skiing in Cardiff during 2014 then please take a look at Penarth Water Ski Club who run boat sessions in Cardiff Bay http://penarthwaterski.co.uk/

Please keep following us on Facebook for updates and thank you all for your continued support.

Team CBW

It will be a System 2.0 unfortunately. Expensive for the rider.....

thanks James, I thought I was 'following' their page but obviously not. Have to admit I don't know the diff between the 2.0 and 5.0 systems? Less towers I guess?

System 2.0 is a two tower cable which is only good for one rider at a time. Full cable will accommodate between 7-10 riders at any time making it cheaper for the rider for more time. Both have their advantages and the system 2.0 is brilliant for learning tricks but typically you'll pay £20 per hour and share with 4-5 others, full cable is around £50 per day.

WM Ski in the Cotswolds is running System 2.0 this year. I agree that it's more expensive, but I think I learned more in three 15 minute sessions there than I learned in a year at the 5-tower cable park. They are constantly pushing you to progress and giving you tips on improving technique.

Roll on next year, when WM Ski will hopefully have a System 2.0 next to a 5-tower cable.

I assume that Cardiff Bay wakeboarding are looking to do something similar (i.e. both systems side by side) if they have the space for it, and once they know it's going to be worth the investment?
