Hi Guys

Just a quick couple of questions. As a few of you have been before I was going to have a little review of my kit as some of its a bit old/used,plus i've never been abroad kiting before.

What are the rough kite sizes mainly used in Hatteras/wind strength? I imagine its a big range?

Also wetsuit type/thickness.

I'll have to try and get down to Porthcawl shortly. Hard to find the time recently between shift work and these bloody storms.

Hi Stu

I went last year and going again this year, I'll be taking my 8m and 12M because thats all I've got.

and I wore my thin shorty wetsuits because I was in the water most of the time and not on my board, but everyone else wore shorts and rash vest.

But I'm sure Marc & Sarah can give you more info

Hi Stru, sorry for delayed reply, you're allowed up to 32kgs so I would take all your kites if you can, what sizes do you have?

Tony's right, it can be anything from a wetsuit to boardies & rash vest, so we usually take both. We usually take our 4/3 three quarter suits, but I doubt you'll need any more thank a summer suit.

The house is booked, the same one as last year.  cheers

I have 7m, 9m and 12.5m kites and got a few wetsuits so should be ok. I probably will have to buy a travel bag from you guys at some point though.

Cool, i'm looking forward to the trip. Fingures crossed from some sunshine too.

FLIGHT NIGHTMARE!!

I have been struggling to find flights at a decent price so that we don't have to pay extortionate prices for our kite gear. Some of the airlines, we're looking at  is coming up £1,029!

So, our option, I think, is for everyone to pay an extra £50 and we fly with Virgin and it includes all our kite gear, we get 43kgs each between a board bag and suit case.

Johanna I will need that £125 + the £50 each I'm afraid.

Everyone let me know your thoughts please, I will need your decision by early tomorrow evening.

Hi Sarah

Sorry to hear the flight are becoming a night mare.

I will pay you the extra £50 tomorrow.

43kgms don't sound a lot for suitcase and kite bag,

I will not be able to pack my water wings and rubber ring now...

Hmm? I think Simon already paid +£125 into your account before the Frozen Jam. He's away this week though. Could you check at your end, please? If he hasn't done it then we'll get the £225 sent to you.

Hey Chris that's correct.

ps Johanna, I think this will be the last time we run a trip to the US as it's such a nightmare to sort sports baggage and flights etc for a large group..Sarah was on the phone again last night for over an hour trying to sort and had a headache after.

Flights r finally booked! BUT, we r leaving on SUNDAY 4th May. I have just spent a further hour on the phone because the price for Saturday has gone up again. We fly at 09.00 so have to be there 3 hours before. I'm still waiting for all the emails to come through so it may say which terminal we fly from.

Nice to meet u today Stru.

I have just transferred my £50.

I appreciate all the hard work you are doing Sarah, I know its not easy booking a holiday for a large

group. But I know it will all be worth it when we get there.. sunny

I echo what the others have been saying. It's not nice having to pay extra and I know I've been moaning about it, but we still really appreciate all the effort you're going through to sort this out. Also if it's the last time you organise a trip to the US it's going to be a privilege to be there!

Purpleparking looks a little cheaper but has anybody got any good suggestions as to which parking film

How would you apply for an online visa, all the information I can see on getting hold of a US tourist visa states that an interview at the US Embassy in London is required as part of the process. Is there a link or something you can perhaps post just to ensure that we go through the correct process?

Or are you refering to the ESTA Visa Waiver Programme as detailed in the link below?

Cheers,
