Hello Everybody

I decided to introduce myself .

My name is Marcin , i'am from Portishead

I have some experience flying power kites but I am totally new to kitesurfing , already had some lessons from Blast not quite finished yet but started to think of buying my own equipment .
And i would appreciate some advice about what kite size should i choose for my first "main" kite what board etc . I am 190 cm , 80 kg . Also is it worth to buy totally new equipment or as a newbie should i buy secondhand one ?

Thanks

Hi Marcin and welcome to the forum!

Best bet is to wait till you finish the lessons and then you will have a much better idea of size of kite etc needed but a common size when starting is 11-12m as this is the most used size for your avearge  weight guy.

Board wise, the Blankforce Logic 137x41 continues to be an ideal starter board but one you won't grow out of (like the Renegade kite also)
This one.....

ps. Abi has a 11m Renegade for sale in the Used kit section which would be ideal for you.

Alternatively if you want new, you know the deal we can do for those who have lessons with us?

Thank You for some helpful tips , i was thinking about 11 m but wasn't sure , also heard v good opinions on epic kites , i know there is a guy in obx designing them , i spend 2 summers there working for kitty hawk kites that's where i started my kite adventure , but  just learnt powerkiting only .. didn't had time to try kiteboarding

I know about the deal after lessons , hoping to make up my mind in this month a make a purchase .

Yup Dimitri lives in OBX (Nags Head) and regularly kites at KHK

The new 4G Epic Kites will be available in the next few weeks too, here's Dimitri on them in OBX
