Hi everyone I'm hoping to be in Cardiff in a few weeks and would  like to kite for a day where is the closest kite beach from there? Many thanks in advance lizzie Very Happy

the closest nice beach to kite from would be rest bay at porthcawl, its about 35 mins down the M4.
You need to know that you can only use it three hours each side of low tide, roughly , as once the tide is in there is no beach. 
Back in the day, peopled used to use cold knap in Barry which is much closer but has a horrible shore dump onto pebbles and very strong currents. I don't think anyone goes there now other than the windsurfers. I wouldn't recommend it at all.

Porthcawl has a new stayover night site right at coney beach. If you have a club membership to the caravan club they have a 5 van site at rest bay.
Aberavon...... nothing but some brave souls stay in the car park.
