PostSubject: Wetsuit repair   Sat May 25, 2013 8:06 am

I've got a one inch tare in my wetsuit and the guy who fixes them is away for three weeks.
It's time I got back in the water after too long away.
I only need this fix to hold for a few sessions then the wetsuit guy will be back and he can fix it properly.

Maybe it's time to get a new suit? But I have to weigh this up with all the other kit I need to get.

Can I use glue or do I sew it? The tear is along the actual seam itself, like I say it's about an inch long.

I've used Black Seal wetsuit glue. I assume it's similar to Black Witch?

The Black Seal is great stuff, but it doesn't hold seams for very long. I think I need to get some kind of patches to hold the inside of the seam, or find a "guy who repairs wetsuits". Where would I be able to find such a guy, and how much would he charge?

Umm there's a guy in Porthcawl that does wetsuit repairs, but he's away for a few weeks. I got my mate to do a Black Seal repair on it yesterday, I guess I'll see how long it holds.
Wetsuit guy's number 07817123024.
