I've kited at Famara and it's a great day when it's on, like anywhere you just need the wind. March can be diff time though i.e hit and miss

We used to go to Fuerta, next island along but very similar. We went 5 or 6 times in 3 years around March and October. As a kiting destination my experience was that it was very unreliable for wind, sometimes not windy for days at a time. I no longer bother at that time of year. We now go to Egypt, flater water i know but I've had reliable wind every time. If you're going with family and wanting the sun I found the Canaries quite cold as well and the Egypt climate spot on. Been 3 times this year and not a hint of trouble in the resorts. I've been goin to Nabq bay which is in the north of sharm. I used kite junkies for storage of my kit etc, check out their site, they are a good bunch there and really helpful. I think there are a few spots with some waves nearby but it's a taxi ride. I always stay in the kite junkies area as its on the doorstep and ideal as I'm with the family. MarkW just got back and may have some useful ideas.

Hey Ant, have been to Lanzarote many times kiting, Famara is a top spot and easily accessible from the main resorts, good waves and flat areas, i`ve always had good winds in both summer and winter, obviously summer better as the trade winds develop, winter can be strong and gusty.. def worth a cheap early deal as temperatures gonna be good!

Thanks for sharing; we are planning for Lanzarote, Famara holiday beginning/ mid April.
Would it be better in regard to wind? Also is it good idea to stay at one of the Famara bungalows?
Thanks
