Hi, Me and Sarah, my better half, have just moved to south Wales, from Fife, where we enjoyed a great kitesurfing scene. We are mad keen to carry on kiting down here and would like to meet up with other kiters and make the most of 'local knowledge' Cheers for now Ian

hi and welcome usually someone out almost anytime. Trouble is we have sooo many beaches and not a huge number of kiters more than about 4 feels like a crowd. Checkout Aberavon , Rest Bay, Pembrey, LLanelli Always someone in Al

Sounds promissing! We live between Barry and Porthcawl and have had a look at Ogmore and Southerdown, and were woundering if anyone flew at either of these beaches? These seem to be the closest but we are willing to travel for the right beach and conditions! All advice much appreciated, hope to meet some of you soon! Cheers Ian

well i live in llantwit, Og is do able , need to watch the tide , current and water qulaity after heavy rain. People used to do The Knap (barry) but its a pain, strong currents and a shorebrake like nothing else except at low tide.

Hi alunj, Not far from you, so where is your favourite spot? Is it your most used spot, and if not, where do you go most often? We are itching to get out on the water, no wind till Friday, and we have the BT guy coming to sort out our phone line....... just hope he comes early....... We checked out the Knap today........... wouldn't fancy getting dragged up that beach Ian

Welcome to South Wales you two! Were you the couple out at Aber on Friday evening on the Ozones? I went down to walk the dogs not realising there was enough wind to kite else I'd of been out and the dogs could have waited! As already mentioned above there are plenty of friendly folks 'round here. I moved down almost 4 1/2 years ago from Derbyshire. Best thing I ever did! See you on the beach. I fly RRD Hypertypes (black 12m and red 9m). Come say hi...

Hi Mus, Yes that was us! First South Wales kiting session for us both and we really enjoyed it, so moving away from the beaches in Fife doesn't seem so traumatic now....
