Arrived safely last night at 7pm local time. Was picked up by good mate Dave Hazel who then took us out for a cool meal in a staek restaraunt, super cheap too!
Then a beer, then another then cocktails then another, crawled in at 3am which means I was up from 2.30 am till 7am the next day! Evil or Very Mad

Anyway bit of a relaxed start today and a pwered up session on the 9m Vari and Emily on the 7m Zeeko, bit choppy but super warm water, nice![img][/img]

An update on the boss for everyone, not too great I'm afraid No

Despite all the great wind, hot sun and no rain, his laptop has stopped working and last night he had his iphone stolen!! pick pocketed Evil or Very Mad

I only know this because a friend of ours, also in Brazil, let me know via facebook this evening. So I think Marc is now further up the coast in Ilha do Guajiru, his 'home town' for the next 5 months.

Hopefully he'll be back in contact with us soon.

He has no recolection of the last 3 days, scary!!

He is planning on moving camps, possibly to a place up the coast called Praia, at the moment as it is very quiet where he is at the moment, planning on going back to Jamie's camp in October.

Just a quick update (from a internet cafe in nearby village)

The kiting is truly awesome here, Martyn etc your gonna really love everything about Brazil (watch thye dont spike your drink though)
Seems I was the 1st they have heard this happen to in this region of Brazil!! I was spaced out fro the next 3 days and cant remember anything from all that time.

Fortunatly we have made some cool friends here from all parts of the world so more than made up for the poor start. The local Brazilians are super cool and friendly too.

7m & 9m kites are all you need here in Ilha do Guajiru, maybe a bit biger down in Cumbucu but again I was fine there on my 9m

It,s very quiet everywhere so far but ment to pick up in October so fingers crossed.
Accomodation is super cheap if not fussy and we have been having two meals a day as part of our deal running the school here......Blown Away

I hope to get a new lead for my laptop some time soon so will then drive u all mad with some sweet pics etc.

Anyways happy winds to you all

Hi Marc,

Glad to hear that you have settled in a bit more now and it was a one off random spiking… I will tell Mark (Aston) he can stand down from spike watch in that case!!

Can’t wait to get out there and sample the warm water/wind. We were planning to take a 7m and 9m each. Do you think it would be worth chucking a 12m in too?

See you on the 23rd Oct (or there abouts)!

Cheers

ps. let me know if you need anything brought out for you.

Hi Martyn, as soon as I get my charger for my pc I will post more info pics etc

You will best bring the 12m for Cumbucu, but once we head north you prob wont need it, many people leave there big kites in Cumbucu when heading north.

Here in Guijiru all you need is the 7/9m Vari's

I was out at 8m today before the wind really picks up and was lit on my 9m. We have made some awesome friends here and having so much laughs, but still miss the local scene in S.Wales Crying or Very sad
We have seen giant turtles, flying fish(emily was hit in the leg by one) and loads more!

Just pack plenty of high factor suncream, rash vest and shorts, and keep an eye on your drinks!

Laters
Marc

Sarah eventually arrived here (late cos of the strikes etc)
1st day on the water and within 2 tacks we saw a dolphin, very rare here!
We then did a great downwinder to the lagoon with fun waves chest-head high on the way.

Now up in Gujuru, check out the DVD in this months Kiteworld
Flat water and mostly 7m weather, water is like warm bath!

Meals and a room are so cheap, Lobster tonight and beers and all for under 5 Quid!!
Internet is SO bad but hope to put some pics up soon to relly piss you all off!
