Any good as a first wave board? (not counting that rediculous 6'6" red airush thing that's soon to be got rid of)

Yeh def, The Xelerator have a superb feel to them and are incredibly strong too. It was Sarah sboard and she is sticking to her TT Evil or Very Mad
